Forbis + Tilby's Animated Film Shortlisted for Oscar

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has announced that Amanda Forbis (81) and Wendy Tilby’s (86) animated short Wild Life, is one of 10 films selected to continue in the running for a nomination at the upcoming 84th Academy Awards. This is the second Oscar nomination the pair have received; their animated film, When the Day Breaks received an Oscar nod in 1999.   Read more…

Gay investigates relationships of language, the body and memory and the way in which they are mediated through machine technologies via a multi-disciplinary practice that includes computer projections, animations and drawing. The City of Vancouver and its economic development agency, the Vancouver Economic Commission (VEC), announced today, December 7, 2011, the Campus‐City Collaborative (C3): an initiative to bring together the City of Vancouver, Vancouver Economic Commission (VEC) and six post‐secondary institutions to work together towards the City’s green economy targets.
