Emily Carr recently conducted an alumni employment survey with Vancouver-based market research and consulting firm Vision Critical.

According to findings, 92% of grads are employed, an increase of 6% since a 2006 survey. The survey received a high response rate, — with over 1/3 of invited graduates from 1996-2011 participating. And, of those working, 29% own their own business, are self-employed, or are themselves employers.

The positive results affirm the importance of an art and design education to the creative economy, and are of particular relevance during these challenging economic times. Read more…..
