Takao Tanabe | Chronicles of Form and Place: Works on Paper

Former faculty and Honorary Degree Recipient Takao Tanabe is featured in a retrospective exhibition at the Burnaby Art Gallery.

The exhibition will feature drawings and watercolours by the artist from 1945 to the present day. The intent of the exhibition is to chronicle the artist’s career through his drawing practice – often the starting point for paintings. The exhibition will examine, critically, how the artist has changed, adapted and/or reflected upon his subjects and the use of media to render a sense of “place” within his artwork. The exhibition is being co-curated by Darrin Martens and Ihor Holubisky (curator at McMaster Museum Art). Burnaby Art Gallery
